Yoga Inspires!
What I love about yoga is that it’s for EVERY BODY! I deeply believe you’re never too old, unfit or tight to do yoga - it can be tailor made to ‘fit the individual’. My teaching style reflects this truth. Classes are well rounded with a focus on breath and self-awareness – and include postures, meditation, relaxation and philosophy (just a little bit!) in a safe and supportive environment. You are encouraged and supported to work at your own pace, adapting and adjusting within the limits of your fitness & flexibility - without competition – to achieve a sense of physical, mental and spiritual well being, renewal and healing.
My Journey
My yoga journey began 25 years ago. Over time, I became aware that subtly woven in and around the postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation I was doing in class, were teachings on philosophy and lifestyle that deeply influenced my way of 'being’ not just on the mat, but off the mat, in my busy daily life. The discovery of this richly holistic approach to life was so inspiring that in 2006 I completed an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching at Nature Care College, and have been teaching Hatha Yoga ever since. I am deeply committed to my personal practice and continue to immerse myself in ongoing personal development through regular mentoring and attendance of courses and workshops. My Yoga Therapy training began at the Krishnamacharya Health and Yoga Foundation in Chennai, India – and was completed at the Yoga Therapy Institute in Sydney in 2018. I am also certified in Chair Yoga, Seniors Yoga, Yoga for Disability/Accessible Yoga, and have a deep belief in the healing qualities of Ayurveda, Restorative Yoga and Meditation.
I acknowledge the influence and wisdom of my teachers Judith Hanson Lasater, Donna Farhi and Kristine Kavoeri-Webber. I am always deeply grateful for the guidance of my mentors Dr Kausthub Desikachar, Sindar Kaur and Sal Flynn for inspiring me to be authentic and teach from the heart.
